About
We are an informal group of people living in SE Queensland with an interest in improving legislative outcomes on VAD and related end of life healthcare issues. We are concerned about our legal end of life options and choices here in Qld and we are passionate about law change to improve upon them.
We hope that by educating our communities about these issues, sharing our personal stories related to these issues, and taking these issues up with our elected representatives and future aspiring candidates for office - we hope all this and more will lead to better and improved legislative reform outcomes for Queenslanders in the end of life healthcare area.
We believe better decisions are made when the many participate: when we listen to each other; have conversations with each other; partake in rational, respectful, informed, and friendly debate with each other; and compare and contrast differing views, ideas and options with each other.
Our favourite haunts are the coffee shops in inner city Brisbane. If you feel like a coffee and chat, with discussion of these weighty law reform issues see our contact page.

Thank You
A few thank you’s are well earned:
- To our kitchen cabinet of friends that we like to drink coffee with, and discuss weighty issues with - a huge thank you. Much of the content on this site, and the collection of stories and resources shared here, has come as a result of our coffee conversations. You shall all remain forever nameless, but you know who you are. Thank you again.
- To our IT guy, a big thank you. We couldn’t have done any of this without you. Especially on our budget. Your support has been incredible and your patience with silly questions has been wonderful. You too, shall remain nameless, but you know who you are too. Thank you again.
- And to the many who came before us, who paved the way to the Qld legislation now making VAD accessible here in Qld, a heartfelt thanks from all of us fellow Queenslanders!
- And to all you voters out there, thank you! You contributed to our VAD laws too. You elected the Govt that did it. We often don’t think our vote counts. But we elected a Government a while back that drafted the Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2021, then that Govt called a Parliamentary Committee of inquiry into this proposed Act, then they reviewed the findings, and subsequently debated and amended the Act in parliament, and then that Govt passed the Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2021 into law. It can be found here.
- And lastly, thank you to everyone else involved in this process too, especially the Ayes!
